I cut the communication and the abuse is going to stop!!!!

Last night after we got home. I finished up and email to him and his parents. His parents have been so much a part of enabling the abuse. After they picked up their stuff yesterday I just had it. Picky, picky prima donna people. I have to have contact with him because of the kids...however nothing says I have to put up with the abuse of his parents. The intimidations of his parents threatening the police to step in if there was such a scratch on the stuff. Telling me not to call or email him. So in my rebellious state I talked only to him and not to them. Anyways, I told them in the email last night that I did not want to hear from them again. It felt good as I want to distance my self from the poison of that family. The scooting under the radar that I did in order not to "get into trouble," and saw that modeled by his mother. And the defending of something going on in our marriage that they knew was wrong. She kept warning him that he needed to stop throwing stuff as his father patched up a wall he destroyed. Or else what???......guess what.....I left. That is what it was....the consequence of his actions was for me to leave. No one said it, but that was the underlying theme. And no one thought I had the guts to leave....guess what I am free of flying objects.

Last night I had a chance to reflect on the differences between the healthy relationship I am in now and the truly disfunctional relationship I am in now. Joe and I truely don't argue. We have discussions and everyone's opinion is valued. We both worry about the other giving too much. We don't harbor bad thoughts about each other and we treat each other with respect and love. I truely love that about us. My home is peaceful and more peaceful that I have had in the last ten years. My house is quiet right now, I am typing here, kids are upstairs playing quietly and Joe is working on his laptop at the table. I really treasure the quiet and tranquility of my home now. No more noise and disagreement (except of my kids fighting with each other.) All normal (as my daughter comes down the stairs screaming) and blissful.
