I really believe in my dreams and how it talks to me about what is going on in my life.
Last night I had a dream that intrigued me. After I left my house, the house caught fire. My mom and Adam were in it but I didn't realize it until afterwards and I wasn't scared for them as I knew they were safe in the basement at the time of the fire. So the dream puzzled me and so I went searching on line for the meaning of a few symbols.
The first was fire. Here is what I found:
One of the four basic elements, fire is considered a masculine, active symbol, and a representative of our spirit or energy. It can represent immortality; resurrection; destructive, consuming forces; a source of nurturing and growth. It sometimes represents powerful or overwhelmingly emotion or motivation which can bring enlightenment or destruction; hence, it is related to birth or death and renewal motifs. As a symbol of transformation, it may refer to the maturation process; the growth of spirituality or reaching toward it. Associated with the god Vulcan, it is related to volcanoes. Menopausal women dream of fires more often that before menopause. People with AIDS and cancer may dream of spreading wildfires, reflecting the disease process.
Then I searched Home:
If your current home, it may reflect whatever feelings or needs you have about it (security or safety)? Dream interpretation of your home may be an image for anything that is basic to you; your values, goals; family or love relationships.Past homes, especially childhood ones, may reflect aspects of yourself that were prominent during the occupancy of that home; attitudes you developed at that time; old, possibly repetitive, feelings; family feelings; unfinished business evoked and now surfacing because you are handling a situation in old ways. WOW!!! So my home is symbolizing my past ways and now I am transforming those old ways to be the more healthy me. It was so odd looking at the charred house but I have to tell you I was so happy to see the place burnt. I didn't want the place standing and don't in real life because it bring so much unhappiness and anger. I wish I didn't have to go back....but with my girlfriend across the street I will need to. However, how I felt in that house will not ever take me over again.
